Licensing Attorney                                                                                                  East Coast

Responsibilities:

bullet working closely with Technology Standards group to develop an overall strategy for participation in standards setting bodies that is consistent with  Intellectual Property and Licensing (IP&L) organization goals and policy;
bullet evaluation and negotiation of Membership Agreements;
bullet enforcing IP Policy within the company;
bullet managing Technology Standards IPR policy compliance, including essential IPR Disclosures and tracking;
bullet advising technical representatives on issues regarding intellectual property as they arise in the standards context;
bullet monitor and assess standards IP trends and issues, write reports and advisory white papers to inform senior management and provide guidance for future strategic actions;
bullet assisting in preparation of training materials and conducting training as needed.

Requirements:

bullet Minimum 5-8 years of relevant work experience with strong technical background and familiarity with contract and intellectual property law matters.
bullet Highly self-motivated, methodical, confident, and interact well with business management, engineering, and legal staff.
bullet Ability to develop, expand and maintain internal and external networks necessary to accomplish the mission.
bullet Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, as well as sophisticated negotiating skills.
bullet J.D. with BSEE or BSCS undergrad, admission to the USPTO and a State Bar.
bullet Some travel (mostly US and EU).
